Before we begin, let's talk about some common misconceptions - you might have heard one or two things before - there are few people who make money with their blogs without any knowledge or experience on the topic.
If You Don't Know About Bloggers & Earn From Their Work
1) Your Website is Just There To Sell Them Ads, Content And Promotions
Wrong! Yes, even if you have no website, you can sell all those things online on your blog by creating ads, promoting products, and creating sales. As well as that you can promote other bloggers on your site. But that doesn't mean that your website should just be an advertisement platform for selling something, an advertiser platform or a product creator platform isn't a good strategy to keep more visitors to your blog.
To write unique and interesting posts to attract viewers and readers. For example, don't buy anything on Google using keywords such as "best laptop", "best cheap laptops", etc. The first thing you need to understand is that a lot of people search for keywords that they want. So that's why your blog needs to create content that reflects what your audience wants to read on your website, not what they're searching for. What's cool about this approach is that your blog will always remain authentic and true to yourself.
That being said, don’t forget that you want to show content that will satisfy your audience. If it doesn't have to be something that will go viral, then that’s probably not going to work. That’s where blogging comes into play.
There are several methods you can use to make money blogging, whether that's through Facebook pages, Instagram stories, Linkedin profiles, social media advertising, affiliate marketing, guest posts, sponsored posts, sponsored links, sponsorships and many others.
2) Writing SEO Friendly URLs
It’s easy as pie! Just copy/paste a keyword or a phrase from your post and type it out in front of WordPress. Then click "Publish" and sit back waiting for someone else to do the rest. When you’re ready, click back inside the editor to see how much traffic the post gets, how many times someone clicked on it and how many times someone has viewed it. The final number after the last “view” and “clicked” is how much profit you made.
When I started my career as a Digital Marketer at Microsoft, I went through these very same steps every time I published an article. However, with sites like Medium, I haven’t looked into them much. At the moment, I think that a blog is enough space between a person who writes an article and a website with the main goal being getting views. If you’re not satisfied with how much money you make just because they’ve hit 4,000 views, then I wouldn't recommend doing so.
With WordPress, you can add a meta tag to improve the readability of your webpage. A meta tag consists of three parts: headings, meta descriptions, and meta tags. This will tell google that your homepage is a valid page, so users are able to find your content on Google (if you’re not using Google Search Console yet, you’re already prepared, you’re welcome!)
One way to do this is to include meta descriptions in your articles. They help users understand what your story is about and, most importantly, what keywords you’re looking to optimize your webpage for.
3) Create Social Media Profiles
Social media is important, it allows the public to engage directly with your brand, it also gives you visibility. With social media, you can reach more than 6,000,000 people in the shortest period possible.
Having multiple profiles on LinkedIn is not only helpful for building your network, but it shows who you’re really looking to attract. For instance, when you start looking for jobs, you can include your current employer as part of the job title in your profile. This way, your potential employers can find you on professional networks.
You don’t need to follow anyone just to follow somebody, that's what traditional means.
Social media platforms are becoming essential and you can even start small social media campaigns to grow your presence. Social media is extremely popular nowadays, especially considering how much everyone spends on social networks these days, you can certainly earn a decent commission.
4) Build Real-Time Pages
Real time pages are crucial. Every page is unique; that’s why real pages are required. A perfect example of real people is when you run a bakery business and write a menu item. You wouldn’t want it to look identical to another meal because each of yours is specially made. Now if you try to copy it and insert it on your blog, it could be too similar and confusing for users to figure out what this meal was.
Make sure you have a clean design that is simple and doesn’t take up a lot of space and that you include your logo. Always remember that the better your blog looks the more likely it will be popular with visitors.
5) Engage with Other Publishers
There’s nothing wrong with giving other bloggers recommendations. If you know anything about internet advertising, then you can surely understand how much traffic a blog has. People usually look for bloggers about certain topics of interest, like recipes or cooking techniques, so start working on writing useful content to give value and insights to a whole new generation of visitors.
6) Add Curation Links
The curation links are very valuable to increase the quantity and quality of the content that you publish and share on social media. These links are basically added throughout your blog posts, and they’re used to explain and encourage your followers. They’ll show you how to solve problems and how you succeeded. All these type of links are called curation links, and you can either use them directly or distribute them via plugins.
7) Interact and Contribute Offline
You can also interact with readers through your personal website. The way, you interact with readers is completely different, but both ways end up helping you. Being available is much more important than what you write in-between the topics/posts.
The best way to do so is to include a link to your website in your bio to let them know what your blog is about and where it's coming from. You can set-up a video to make people know that this site is for free, why you're running it and what you like to write about.
8) Make Sure Your Niche Is Relevant
When you decide to start your blog, you might think that a single niche is perfect. Of course, you can have several niches, but be careful about choosing one. Do you like writing about fashion, food, travel, health, sports? Then focus on your entire blog around that specific topic.
9) Produce Unique Content
Nowadays, everything in life is digital, therefore, you should also produce amazing content on your blog. Don't just stick to any subject of your interest; think of what you're passionate about and write about it. Once you write something in your mind, you need to test it and see what people think about it. You can write about whatever niche you prefer, but make sure that it's relevant to the topic you choose.
10) Be An Expert
When you post on your blog, you need to provide some extra value to it. Share the information that you’ve found, provide the facts, show the tips and tricks your readers should follow in order to make them successful and bring home the cash out. No matter how big a company or a large publisher is, he or she has their fans that still pay attention to what you should say.
Be careful about adding opinions to your content. Don’t just push opinions about something that you are not responsible for or have done nothing to help. Remember, the success of your blog depends solely on your content. Give your ideas a personality because if your writing doesn’t do it for you, others will not either, they might think it is irrelevant.
11) Developed Tips and Tricks
Doing things the right way is very helpful in improving your readers’ skills. In addition to that, you can make lots of useful tips that can help your readers to become successful. By developing useful tips and tricks, your blog may become a hub of innovative solutions.
12) Start Off Small
